The Seattle gloom has returned just in time for the weekend and I am laaaaazy after a long week of running errands before work each day. I am excited though because I was sifting through Andrew’s recipe box last night and I decided that we should make Snickerdoodles to snack on during our dart marathon tomorrow. Though it will be interesting to see how long the marathon lasts as I broke a record number of tips last weekend. I’d like to think I’ve improved since then.

Happy weekend to you friends. Here are some of my faves from the week. Kiss!

Snack time. The salmon roe caviar  I made has been the most awesome snack ever. Since I’ve been too busy (and lazy) to make blinis I’ve used rice crackers instead; a surprisingly awesome accompaniment. I just add creme fraiche, shallots, lemon zest, fresh horseradish and throw ’em back like popcorn.

Andrew’s almond milk. This is my favorite base to use for smoothies which at first was surprising because almond milk from the carton does not taste good. We get these raw organic almonds from Briden Wilson Farm in California. Just soak 1 cup for 24 hours, add to a blender with 4 cups of filtered water. Blend, strain, and store.

Styling tips. Mari and I have the same military coat as part of our Autumn Uniform. Since she’s down in SF we’ve been sharing pics of how we’ve been styling. This week I liked pairing mine with a statement necklace and basic tee.
